Molasses Lace Roll-ups
Recipe file created November 26, 1999.
Ingredients
Remove from oven and let stand one minute. Then quickly loosen all cookies with a broad knife. While cookies are still warm, roll, one at a time, around the handle of a wooden spoon. Let cool on a wire rack.
An elegant looking cookie. Easy to make.
Preheat oven to 325 F. Grease cookie sheet well. Combine dry ingredients in a bowl. Place molasses in a saucepan and slowly heat to boiling. Remove from heat and mix in margarine. Gradually add dry ingredients, stirring well. Drop by half teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheet, about 4 inches apart. Bake 14 minutes or until done.
NOTE:
When these first come out of the oven, they will be too moist to handle. As they cool, they become stiff. If they sit on the cookie sheet too long, they will stick or just shatter when you try to handle them.-- Rox
