Ingredients
- 1 cup margarine, softened
- 1 cup peanut butter, room temperature
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 3 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Preheat oven to 375 F. Combine margarine and peanut butter. Add brown sugar. Mix in egg. Add flour, baking soda and salt. Mix well. Drop onto an ungreased cookie sheet and press with a fork. Bake 8 to 10 minutes.
Variations
Nut Topped Cookies
Using half the dough recipe:
Place 1/2 cup sunflower seeds or chopped nuts in a bowl. Roll cookie dough into walnut sized balls and press into the nuts. Place, nut side up, on cookie sheet.
Peanut Butter Blossoms
Roll the cookie dough into walnut sized balls. Roll balls in granulated sugar (optional). Bake 8 to 10 minutes. Immediately upon removal from the oven, press one Rosebud chocolate or one Chocolate Kiss into each cookie.
Peanut Butter Chip Cookies
Using half the dough recipe:
Stir 1/2 cup chocolate or peanut butter chips into dough. Drop onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake as above.
