Sangria
Recipe file created January 12, 2004.
Thinly slice fruits, or chop into small, but not tiny, pieces. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl EXCEPT ginger ale. Let sit 4 hours or overnight. Add ginger ale before serving. Add ice if desired.
You may use white or red wine, whichever you feel will go well with your chosen fruit. Other fruits to try are grapes, peaches, gooseberries, raspberries, apples, cherries, pears or whatever you happen to have on hand.
Try different frozen juice concentrates to sweeten your sangria and add extra flavour.
Use more or less ginger ale to taste, or use 7-up or soda water instead.
Add 2 to 4 ounces of brandy. Be sure to let the sangria sit for 18 to 24 hours so the flavours have time to mingle.
