Wine Sauce

Recipe file created November 6, 1999.
Simmer chicken in it, or just pour it over some pasta. Don't add extra wine -- the flavour will be too strong.

3 tablespoon margarine
1 to 2 toes of garlic, crushed
2 shallots, finely chopped (or 1 tablespoon onion)
Put into a saucepan and cook until shallots are transparent.
3 tablespoon flour
Add. Cook one minute.

1/2 cup white wine
1 cup milk or light cream
1 tablespoon parsley
1/2 tsp basil
salt and pepper
Cook until done.

Try adding some chopped, fried bacon to the sauce. Very tasty.

NOTE:

If you are using this as a simmering sauce, add another 1/2 cup of milk.
